Summary Judgment Granted Where Wrong Vehicle Owner was Sued

Alexis Pineda, of our Ft. Lauderdale office, secured a summary judgment win for her carrier-client in a tender-rejection case. The case had been pending for six years, and the carrier very recently discovered that the alleged owner of the vehicle was not the actual owner of the vehicle. Both the driver and the alleged owner were represented by another defense firm, and our singular task was to get the wrong owner out of the case. Initially, we thought summary judgment might be unlikely, but Alexis persuaded the Court and won the day.
