Insurance Fraud

Our statewide Insurance Fraud and SIU team has extensive experience handling suspected fraud matters from pre-suit investigation through trial. Having participated in thousands of depositions, examinations under oath, and bench and jury trials, our attorneys are well-versed in evaluating, investigating, litigating, and resolving a broad range of claims involving suspected fraud.

In addition to handling fraud matters directly, our Insurance Fraud attorneys work collaboratively with attorneys across the firm’s practice groups when fraud-related issues arise within a claim or litigation, whether its related to property damage, construction, personal injury or trucking claims. This integrated approach combines our team’s specialized investigative and fraud experience with the subject-matter knowledge of attorneys handling the underlying matter, allowing us to develop a coordinated strategy tailored to the particular claim, coverage issues, and litigation.

Our experience includes, but is not limited to:

  • Accident and disability
  • Arson
  • Auto glass
  • Construction
  • First-party Property (Residential and Commercial Claims)
  • Homeowners Insurance Rings
  • Medical Clinic Billing
  • PIP
  • Personal injury
  • Staged Accident Rings
  • Suspicious Property Losses
  • Trucking
  • UM/UIM
  • Workers’ compensation

Whether engaged to handle a fraud matter directly or brought in to collaborate with another of the firm’s practice groups, our team provides focused guidance at every stage—from identifying fraud indicators and developing investigative strategies to examinations under oath, discovery, litigation, and trial.

Our attorneys also regularly present on fraud, insurance coverage, investigations, and claims-handling issues for industry organizations, including PLRB, CLM, FIFEC, and IASIU. The team also provides continuing education programs for claims professionals addressing claims-handling procedures, regulations, emerging fraud trends, and practical strategies for identifying and responding to suspicious claims.
