Jeremy Chevres, a shareholder at Kubicki Draper’s Ft. Myers office, has built a remarkable career based on

a seasoned attorney who is highly respected for his trial work is a testament to the power of hard work and
the belief that the law can truly make an impact on people’s lives.

Jeremy’s path to becoming an attorney started in an unexpected way. Growing up in Miami, Jeremy was often teased by family and friends for his opinionated nature and strong communication skills—traits that made people predict he would one day go to law school. But that wasn’t his original plan. Jeremy pursued International Business at Florida International University (FIU), aiming for a career in the business world of Miami’s Brickell area. However, the 2008 banking crisis changed everything.

Faced with limited job opportunities, he found himself at a crossroads. His choices were clear: pursue an MBA, go to law school, or start over in a science-based field. To explore his options, he took the LSAT “just to see what happens,” and, as he reflects, the rest was history. Jeremy’s law school experience was marked by determination and the invaluable support of his family. “Grit,” he says, is how he got through law school and passed the bar exam. Becoming a lawyer wasn’t just a career choice—it was a path defined by hard work, a relentless drive, and the belief that the legal profession offers a way to make a real impact. His legal career began with a prestigious clerkship for the Honorable Judge Adalberto Jordan in the Southern District of Florida. In this
role, Jeremy handled complex civil matters, including maritime law, fraud cases, and other high-exposure
legal issues. When Judge Jordan was elevated to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Jeremy’s experience
grew to include both civil and criminal matters, such as habeas petitions and death row reviews.

Following his clerkship, Jeremy joined a boutique law firm in Coral Gables, where he worked on high-profile
federal cases, including FDIC litigation and antitrust lawsuits. It was during this time that Jeremy first heard
glowing reviews about Kubicki Draper from a fellow law school alum. When an opportunity arose to join our
firm, Jeremy didn’t hesitate. His expertise and results-driven approach quickly made him an invaluable part
of our team in the Ft. Myers office.

For Jeremy, the most rewarding part of being an attorney is the ability to protect his clients and the people
he loves. “The best thing about being an attorney is knowing that no one can ever take advantage of me or
the people I love without recourse,” he says. His clients rely on him to guide them through some of the most
challenging times in their lives, and that responsibility drives him every day.

“The closest thing a lawyer can experience to battle is a jury trial,” he reflects.

“I give every client my personal cell phone and tell them to call or text me any day, any time,” he shares.

His career has been one of continual growth and reinvention. “A lawyer rarely practices a single area of law
from the beginning of their career to the end,” he explains. He has quickly adapted to shifts in the legal
landscape, mastering various areas of law and finding success in each. His academic background—an
International Business degree, Business Administration, and a minor in Entrepreneurship—provides him with
a unique perspective when working with corporate clients.

Much of his success, he says, can be traced back to his mentor, Dean Alexander Acosta of Florida
International University School of Law. “He opened doors for me that I wouldn’t have otherwise had access
to,” Jeremy reflects. The impact of this mentorship shaped Jeremy’s approach to law and continues to
influence him as he mentors others in their legal journeys.

When not practicing law, Jeremy is dedicated to his family and hobbies. A proud father of two young girls,
Jeremy’s most cherished personal achievement is being a good father. His interests outside of the office
include boating, golf, enjoying great restaurants, and traveling. One of his bucket list items is to see the
Northern Lights, a goal he’s eagerly looking forward to accomplishing.
Above all, the love and support of family remains central to his life. He is grateful for the unwavering
support they’ve given him throughout his career, which has enabled him to pursue his professional goals
with confidence and balance.

Jeremy’s approach to life—both personal and professional—is centered around making the most of every
moment. “Time is the most valuable resource in the universe,” he says. “It’s unlimited, but it’s up to you
how you spend it.” Whether advocating for his clients or spending time with his family, Jeremy is focused on
