Richard R. Phelps “RJ” focuses his practice on first-party property disputes and both first and third-party injury claims. He provides litigation defense, as well as pre-suit assistance, to include CRN responses, demand responses and examinations under oath.

Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Florida and later received his juris doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law. Before entering private practice, he worked as a claims adjuster for two major property and casualty insurers, giving him valuable insight in the claims process.

Richard’s background in claims adjusting enables him to evaluate matters quickly and strategically, often leading to efficient and fair resolutions. When litigation becomes necessary, he is a strong and effective advocate for his clients. He is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in both the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
