Paul Michael Gabe practices in the areas of insurance coverage, first-party property, premises liability and third-party bodily injury with a focus on fraud (SIU) investigations.

While a substantial portion of Paul’s practice is dedicated to identifying and investigating fraudulent claims, he also has extensive experience in commercial finance, asset-based finance, governmental lobbying, intellectual property, premises liability, and complex business litigation.

Paul has litigated cases throughout Florida and regularly advises his insurance clients on unique coverage and liability issues. He is experienced in the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques, including mediation and arbitration, to help avoid litigation when possible.

Prior to joining Kubicki Draper, Paul worked at a Boca Raton law firm where he focused on commercial finance, asset-based lending, and corporate matters.

Certified by the State of Florida Department of Financial Services, Paul is qualified to teach continuing education courses and frequently presents on various topics for insurance claims professionals and investigators.

• Obtained multiple voluntary dismissals of lawsuits, where through discovery, it was learned the provider submitted fraudulent billing that included false and misleading statements pursuant to Fla. Stat. 627.736(5)(b)(1)(c).

• Obtained multiple voluntary dismissals of lawsuits where through discovery, it was learned Plaintiff had fraudulently submitted documentation purporting to have an emergency medical condition pursuant to Fla. Stat. 627.736(1)(a)(3)
• Secured a victory on behalf of the defendant insurer before Judge Robert W. Lee of the 17th Judicial Circuit in a Personal Injury Protection (PIP) case involving the contractual interpretation and coverage of the subject insurance policy. The Order on Defendant’s Motion for Entitlement to Fees and Costs executed by Judge Robert W. Lee on December 4, 2014 requires the Plaintiff and its attorney to pay for defendant insurer’s legal fees and costs pursuant to Fla. Stat. 57.105.
