Martin Blaya focuses his practice in the areas of first and third party defense, business and contract disputes, real estate litigation, foreclosure and commercial/residential eviction actions. Prior to joining Kubicki Draper, Martin was an associate at a mid-sized Florida insurance defense firm and managing partner of a boutique law firm in Miami. Martin has served on the Florida Bar Committee on Professionalism and has been voted to Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite by his peers, an honor earned by fewer than 1.3% of the active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.
Martin was born in Santiago, Chile but has made Miami, Florida his home for decades; he is fluent in English and Spanish. Martin attended culinary school and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University. He then attended the University of Miami where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2006 and his Masters in Business Administration in 2007. Martin was a recipient of the Emery Means Findley, Jr. Graduate Fellowship and a finalist for the Presidential Management Fellowship Program. During his time at the University of Miami, Martin was elected Senator of the Student Bar Association, acted as an ambassador for the Student Recruiting Program and was a student mentor for incoming students.
Martin prides himself on zealously and effectively representing his clients and believes in building a close relationship with the individuals and companies he represents.

When he’s not practicing law, Martin enjoys spending time with his family, delights in testing out novel recipes in the kitchen and enjoys everything South Florida has to offer.
