Joseph Wolsztyniak has extensive Federal and State Court experience in several areas of the law including automobile, construction litigation, premises liability, products liability, and trucking, transportation disputes.
Joseph’s legal prowess is not confined to a single jurisdiction, but rather extends far and wide. He is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Courts of Florida, Hawaii and Illinois; and licensed in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, including Special Trial Bar Admission District of Hawaii and Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Additionally, he is licensed in the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of International Trade, U.S. Trade, U.S. Tax Court and U.S. Courts of Appeal for the 7th, 9th, 11th and Federal Circuits.
Joseph’s legal journey began as district claim agent for the Chicago, Rock Island RR in Chicago, where he handled mostly catastrophic injury cases defending railroads, trucking companies and highway construction contractors on DOT projects. His early experiences forged a steadfast commitment to excellence in legal defense. Though he started on the defense side, Joseph’s legal compass guided him to a stint with a Plaintiff’s law firm where he gained valuable insights into the other side of the legal spectrum. Yet, the majority of his career was spent with a prominent insurance defense firm where he honed his skills in the art of defense.
As his legal journey continued, Joseph was appointed Deputy Corporation Counsel and Head of Litigation for Maui County, Hawaii. In this role, he represented the Mayor and Police Chief, shouldering the responsibility of defending against environmental litigation, including cases involving EPA violations and Environmental Impact Statements, often working with the FAA and Water Departments.
