Driven by a passion for helping others, Jocelyn Ortiz focuses her practice on automobile and motorized vehicle matters, as well as trucking, transportation, and logistics litigation.
While attending law school, Jocelyn worked full time as a paralegal at a plaintiff’s personal injury firm where she gained a strong foundation in litigation strategy and client service, as well as firsthand insight into the plaintiff’s perspective. In this role, she supported attorneys handling a high-volume caseload and developed a comprehensive understanding of case development from intake through resolution.
Upon admission to the Florida Bar, Jocelyn joined the State Attorney’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida, where she served as a prosecutor. She tried cases in both County and Circuit Court and prosecuted a broad range of criminal matters, from misdemeanors to serious felonies. Her position required daily court appearances, extensive motion practice, and consistent trial preparation while managing a demanding docket.
Jocelyn’s diverse professional background has shaped a well-rounded litigation practice and provides her with a unique perspective in evaluating and handling claims. Her experience on both the plaintiff and prosecution sides allows her to approach matters with strategic insight, sound judgment, and effective advocacy on behalf of her clients.
