James Rinaman primarily handles medical claims (no-fault), automobile, trucking, and marine liability matters, along with SIU-related cases. He earned his Juris Doctor from Florida State University in 1989 and, while in law school, participated in FSU’s summer study program at St. Edmund’s College of Law at Oxford University in Oxford, England.
Prior to law school, James obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Florida. After graduating from law school, he served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1990 to 1996. Following his military service, James built a long-standing insurance defense practice in Florida, gaining experience at established defense firms and later founding and managing his own insurance defense firm. He subsequently continued his practice with other well-respected insurance defense firms, bringing with him decades of litigation, trial, and firm leadership experience before joining the firm.
James is a member of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Medical Claims Defense Network, where he has served on the board of directors since 2010. In addition to being admitted to the Florida Bar, he is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
James frequently lectures on topics related to PIP and medical claims fraud including for the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee, as well as the Medical Claims Defense Network. He has tried jury trials in both Circuit and County Courts throughout North Florida.
