Edward Dulatt is an experienced civil litigator focusing on bodily injury and property damage defense. He is committed to continually enhancing his practice to deliver aggressive and effective representation to his clients.

Ed earned his Bachelors of Science in Political Science from Florida State University, where his interest in politics led him to work in the office of U.S. Senator Bob Graham. During this time, he addressed environmental issues, tax concerns, and cases involving the Florida Department of Children and Families, assisting residents in need of intervention. After graduation, Ed worked as a therapist teaching autistic children in an elementary school environment.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 2005. During law school, Ed taught students about the legal system through the Street Law program and gained hands-on experience working at a Manhattan law firm. There, he assisted with Blue Sky Law compliance, real estate litigation, and closings, representing buyers, sellers, banks and the owners of various buildings throughout New York City.

After passing the New York Bar, Ed began his legal career in Manhattan, focusing on high stakes corporate litigation for Fortune 500 companies. He handled anti-trust litigation, conducted due diligence on multibillion-dollar cases and also worked with the New York City Law Department’s Commercial and Real Estate Litigation Division. His work included assisting the New York City District Attorney’s office in the prosecution of contractors and building inspectors, as well as assisted in malfeasance investigations that led to charges of bribery, fraud and manslaughter.

Relocating to California, Ed served as a paralegal at a medical malpractice defense firm before joining a major malpractice insurance carrier as a Claims Specialist. He managed hundreds of cases from filing to resolution, honing his expertise in medical malpractice litigation.

In 2017, Ed returned to South Florida as a legal risk manager for a healthcare company. He investigated malpractice claims, assessed liability and collaborated with physician defendants and medical experts to develop litigation strategies. He also contributed to improving care quality at the healthcare facilities nationwide and streamlined claims processes to enhance efficiency.

Ed’s diverse background in complex litigation, risk management, and claims resolution equips him with a unique perspective and skill set to effectively navigate insurance litigation at KD.
