Donna Joy Hunter, a native of Miami, has been a member of the Florida Bar since1990 and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Her practice consists primarily of premises liability and commercial insurance defense, representing both private corporate clients and governmental and educational institution.
Donna holds a Bachelors of Science in business administration with an emphasis on human resource management from Florida State University. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law, where she gained valuable experience as a judicial assistant intern to United States District Judge William M. Hoeveler and as a certified legal intern in the felony division of the Dade County State Attorney’s Office. Her academic achievements include being listed in Who’s Who Among American Law Students and serving on the editorial board of the University of Miami Entertainment and Sports Law Review.
With decades of experience, strong commitment to high ethical standards and proven success in her field, Donna earned an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a testament to the respect her peers have for her.
Education
Beyond her legal career, Donna is deeply committed to her community. She has participated in the Dade County Bar Associations’ Put Something Back Program – Pro Bono Project and actively supports the American Cancer Society. Her dedication to community service extends to her involvements with the Boy Scouts of America (“BSA”) where she logged many hours of volunteer hours as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 457 located in Pinecrest, Florida. She is also the proud parent to two Eagle Scouts, the highest achievement of rank attainable in the BSA program.
