Ben Carter is a member of the firm’s appellate practice and litigation support team. He focuses his practice on appellate litigation and insurance coverage matters, while also supporting the firm’s other practice areas both before and during trial. Ben brings a broad range of civil litigation experience to the firm, having previously handled complex commercial, insurance, and real estate matters through trial and appeal. A seasoned legal researcher and writer, Ben specializes in producing high-quality briefs, motions, and coverage opinions, but is equally comfortable arguing before both trial and appellate courts. He excels at untangling novel and complex legal issues to assist clients in achieving their goals at any stage of a dispute.
Ben is a native of Lexington, Kentucky, and moved to South Florida to attend the University of Miami, where he received both his Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees. While in law school, Ben was an Articles and Comments Editor for the University of Miami Business Law Review, and spent his last two years as a Fellow of the law school’s Center for Ethics & Public Service.
Prior to joining Kubicki Draper in 2021, Ben practiced at a commercial litigation boutique in Coral Gables. His background also includes financial services and first-party property litigation. He is admitted to the US District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, as well as the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
