Anthony Atala is Appointed to Miami Dade County Public Schools Committee

Anthony Atala was unanimously elected Chair of the Small Micro and Minority Women Owned Business Enterprise Advisory Committee for Miami-Dade County Public Schools in March 2024. Appointed by School Board Vice Chair Monica Colucci, he immediately influenced the committee’s efforts.

The Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO) for Miami-Dade County Public Schools ensures equal opportunities for small, micro, veteran, minority, and women-owned businesses in contracting and purchasing.

The school board formed the SBE/MBE and M/WBE Advisory Committee to guide and promote the participation of these businesses in procurement activities, issuing recommendations to enhance the program and monitoring disparity studies.

M-DCPS certifies small, micro, minority, and women-owned, and veteran businesses in the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area, fostering contract participation through a race and gender-neutral process.
