From courtroom advocacy to meticulous preparation behind the scenes, Raquel L. Loret de Mola brings dedication, integrity, and a client-first mindset to every matter she handles. Her career path reflects both a longstanding passion for the law and a commitment to excellence that has shaped her into a trusted advocate and leader at KD.
Long before law school was on the horizon, Raquel was drawn to the idea of advocacy. As a child, she was captivated by courtroom dramas and stories of attorneys standing up for others. That curiosity grew alongside her love of history, particularly American history, where many of the nation’s most influential figures were lawyers. Together, those interests
made the practice of law feel like a natural calling.
Raquel earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Central Florida and then spent several years traveling and gaining perspective before relocating to Miami. It was there that she made the pivotal decision to pursue law school, setting the foundation for a career defined by thoughtful advocacy, growth and purpose.
What Raquel enjoys most about being an attorney is advocating for her clients and achieving results that make a meaningful difference to them. Whether through hearings or written submissions, she finds the greatest reward in helping clients navigate difficult moments and seeing the relief and gratitude that follow a positive outcome.
Known for her preparation and precision, Raquel is a skilled writer and persuasive advocate with strong oral and written advocacy skills. Her attention to detail, ability to anticipate issues, and commitment to responsiveness set her apart. Clients can expect a thorough, communicative attorney one who treats every matter with care, urgency, and a high standard of service.
Early in her time at KD, Raquel faced one of her most formative professional challenges when she was assigned to assist on the FIU Bridge Collapse case. The high-profile and complex matter required her to quickly develop fluency in construction defect issues while managing an extensive and demanding case file. The experience pushed her to adapt quickly, sharpen her organizational skills, and perform at a high level under pressure — skills that continue to serve her today.
Her professional journey has also been shaped by strong mentorship. Raquel credits Peter Baumberger as instrumental in providing invaluable guidance, perspective, and support. One piece of advice that has stayed with her is simple but powerful: act confident, even when you’re not. Raquel’s mindset and work ethic have helped her reach one of her proudest professional milestones — being promoted to shareholder. She has also been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, reflecting her growing impact within the legal community.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Raquel has called Miami home for the past 16 years. She describes herself as loyal, hardworking, and guided by integrity – traits that resonate with how friends and colleagues know her. Those close to her would describe her as kind, resilient, trustworthy, dependable, determined, and, by her own admission, a bit stubborn.
One thing people might not guess is that Raquel is a first-generation Cuban American on her father’s side, a background that has helped shape her perspective and drive. Outside the office, Raquel values balance and meaningful experiences. She enjoys traveling, practicing Pilates and yoga, exploring farmers markets, and taking in live music and theater. She appreciates great food, time on or near the water, spa days and meaningful moments with friends. Among her proudest personal accomplishments are graduating law school magna cum laude and purchasing a home on her own – milestones that reflect both discipline and independence.
