overview

Anthony Atala focuses his practice on the defense of personal injury cases, Personal Injury Protection (including Special Investigations matters), Fraud Affirmative Actions, Examinations Under Oath, Property and Homeowner’s claims. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Anthony received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida. He then attended law school at Florida A&M University – College of Law in Orlando, Florida. During his time in law school, Anthony served as a member of the Student Bar Association, the governing branch of the Law School. Anthony was actively involved in the Hispanic Bar Association and volunteered with the Legal Aid Society in the Guardian Ad Litem program representing children and teenagers who were in the custody of the State. Simultaneously, he was a representative for Lexis Nexis legal software, as well as a Graduate Assistant for Associate Professor Rhoda Pierre Cato, a former City of Houston Municipal Judge.

After law school, Anthony opened his own law firm in Central Florida practicing in the areas of Plaintiff’s Personal Injury, Criminal Law, Real Estate, and Family Law. Since relocating to South Florida, Anthony joined well-known South Florida insurance defense firms, where he focused on Personal Injury Protection, Motor Vehicle Accident Claims, and in the prosecution of civil fraud claims on behalf of some of the nation’s largest automobile insurance carriers. He worked alongside the Division of Insurance Fraud and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in many claims that lead to the criminal prosecution of fraudulent insurance claims. Anthony has taken many depositions and examinations under oath that have lead to great results and outcomes to many of his clients. He is well respected in the field, and is often retained to represent clients in fraudulent claims, global settlements and mediations, as well as provide advisory opinions as to policy language and litigation strategies for insurance companies.

In addition to his license to practice law, Anthony is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the State of Florida. He previously worked managing a title company and has knowledge on real estate and title related matters.

Anthony is originally from Miami, Florida, and is a first-generation American. He volunteers in his free time working with High School students as a Youth Minister and routinely serves as a Judge or Juror at trials and oral arguments for Broward County Public Schools and Nova University Law School.
