Radia Turay is an associate in the Miami office of Kubicki Draper. Her practice focuses on the areas of premises liability, wrongful death, products liability and personal injury defense. Prior to joining Kubicki Draper, Radia worked as an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami-Dade State Attorney's office.
As an Assistant State Attorney, Radia successfully prosecuted hundreds of cases ranging from criminal traffic infractions to second degree murder. She also had an opportunity to serve as a Division Chief in the office’s Juvenile Court Division. As Division Chief, she not only handled the most serious cases in the Juvenile Unit, but also supervised and trained Assistant State Attorney on all aspects pertaining to the prosecution of their cases.
Through her various professional and personal experiences, Radia has developed a firm commitment to public service which was initially nurtured during her time at Spelman College and solidified at Syracuse University College of Law. While attending Syracuse University, she worked on the Sierra Leone Project, which provided litigation support for the Prosecutor’s Office for the Special Court of Sierra Leone, assisting in the office’s prosecution of individuals that were most responsible for perpetrating the most heinous of crimes during Sierra Leone’s ( the country of her birth) long civil war.
She currently serves as the Chair of Gwen S Cherry Black Women Lawyer’s Association’s Fundraising Committee.
