Bill Bissett has practiced law in Florida for over 35 years. During this time, Bill has primarily focused his efforts on being a successful appellate lawyer, handling in excess of 170 appeals before the Florida Supreme Court, all five Florida district courts of appeal, and the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. These cases have involved a broad range of civil litigation issues, as well as substantive issues of statewide importance, including multiple appeals certified to the Florida Supreme Court as involving "questions of great public importance."
Over the past three decades, Bill has also been before the trial courts throughout Florida, either arguing motions or trying, or assisting in trying, complex and significant cases for his clients. During this same period, Bill has handled and resolved an extensive array of coverage disputes. He additionally provides trial support from the beginning to the end of significant exposure cases.
Aside from presenting seminars to clients on a wide variety of topics, for the past fifteen years, Bill has authored the Florida Law Section of the nationally published Tort Law Desk Reference: A Fifty State Compendium (Aspen Publishers).
