Christopher M. Utrera is an attorney practicing in the firm’s Miami office. He handles a wide variety of matters in the areas of construction law, commercial and business litigation, and complex tort litigation. As his main focus, Mr. Utrera’s construction law practice includes complex construction defect claims, contract drafting and negotiation, personal injury arising from construction site accidents, insurance and bond claims, and most other aspects of construction law. His clients include owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other professionals in the construction industry. Mr. Utrera also litigates complex tort and commercial matters stemming from professional liability, premises liability, products liability, automobile negligence, and contract disputes.
Mr. Utrera was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and earned his undergraduate degree from Florida International University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science., with a minor in International Relations. Following his undergraduate studies, Mr. Utrera earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida International University’s College of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the Board of Advocates and selected to be a member of the Trial Team. He participated in the school’s Judicial Externship Program as a Certified Legal Intern with the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office, and was the recipient of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Ted Klein Memorial Scholarship.
