History

Our law firm was founded in 1963 in Miami by Gene Kubicki and a team of hand picked trial lawyers that brought with them a reputation for handling complex, high stakes litigation matters. KUBICKI DRAPER quickly became known throughout South Florida as a trial lawyer's firm, with a reputation for fearlessness and results. Our list of clients grew in response to this reputation and also because of our focus on cost-effectiveness and proactive client service.

The firm has been selected as primary Florida counsel for a vast number of Fortune 500 corporations and carriers and has handled some of the most significant and high exposure trials and appeals in the State of Florida. Today, more than four decades after it began, KUBICKI DRAPER remains the "go-to" law firm in Florida for many of the largest and most sophisticated institutional clients in the world. 

Growth

Through the years, the firm has grown to reflect the needs of its clients. As statewide counsel for a number of national corporations and carriers, the firm has long been asked to assist in the defense of clients' high exposure matters throughout the State of Florida. Initially, in the 1980's, the law firm expanded into Broward and Palm Beach Counties.  The explosive growth throughout the state of Florida in the 1990's provided both a need and an opportunity. In response, the law firm expanded further, first into Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Myers and Naples and then to Orlando, Tallahassee and Ocala.

Importantly, however, the law firm chose to expand from within, rather than haphazardly merging with other firms. Accordingly, our statewide offices are staffed by KUBICKI DRAPER attorneys who chose to move to new areas to assist in the firm's growth. As a result, KUBICKI DRAPER offers its clients something unique in the State of Florida: A law firm comprised of ten fully staffed offices covering every county from the Panhandle to the Florida Keys run by attorneys trained to share the firm's essential core values which date back to 1963, to provide a superior level of aggressive trial and appellate advocacy, but always with an attention to the highest levels of professionalism and a dedication to cost-effectiveness and client service and attentiveness.

Our Lawyers

KUBICKI DRAPER is still known as a firm of trial lawyers. Our attorneys are skilled and at ease in front of juries and judges in all state, federal and administrative legal forums. The firm's clients, along with other lawyers, judges and the Florida legal community at large, recognize the distinction between a trial lawyer and a mere 'litigator.' Truly effective advocacy necessarily begins with a willingness and know-how to take a case through a jury-trial or appeal. Only a lawyer with experience in going the distance can properly advise a client the true risks, pros or cons of putting an individual case to trial. This knowledge also permits a trial attorney to maintain a focus on the essential aspects of any case, and not waste efforts on irrelevant tasks that do nothing to move a case forward correctly and efficiently. Accordingly, a trial lawyer can be more effective in crafting cost-effective and expedient resolutions in matters, even when trial is unnecessary. Service

Return clients are the life blood of any law firm. KUBICKI DRAPER ensures client satisfaction by an exacting attention to service issues. We are aware that many clients maintain reporting and budgetary requirements and expect them to be submitted timely and in a proper format. The firm maintains a system of internal checks and balances designed to ensure that all requirements relating to reporting are satisified.

Additionally, our firm presents claims seminars in the Orlando area biannually to which all of the firm's clients are invited. These seminars are valid Florida licensing credits and cover a vast array of topics. Meals and cocktails are included and complimentary. Our lawyers are frequent lecturers in seminars presented by the Florida Bar and other national, statewide, and local professional organizations and are always available to visit with individual clients to provide such services in-house.
