Bob has been an active trial attorney in Florida since 1982. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross (B.A. 1977) and Fordham Law School (J.D. 1982). Bob worked as a marketing representative for IBM, while completing three years of evening classes at Fordham. He moved to Miami and completed his legal education at the University of Miami as a visiting student.
Over his 23 year career, Bob has handled and tried a broad variety of commercial and insurance related cases, including general liability, marine transportation, trucking, malpractice, products liability, construction defect, real estate and coverage litigation. His extensive experience and knowledge in both liability and insurance issues enable him to excel in the handling of complex and difficult claims.
Bob has been designated to handle complicated construction defect claims, handles coverage litigation for the firm, and manages the defense of over 4,000 toxic tort cases throughout Florida.
Bob is an active member of the DRI Construction and Transportation committees, serving as the web page chair for the Construction committee. He is also an active member of IADC, serving on the Construction and Casualty committees. Bob is also involved in the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, serving on the Legislative Liaison committee.
Bob is also active in the community, participating as a Trustee Member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, served as the Vice President of the Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce, been an appointed member of the City of Miami Heritage Conservation Board, President of the Coconut Grove Civic Club, President of the Cocoanut Grove Park Homeowners Association, Director of the Coconut Grove Local Development Corporation and Chair of the Miami Dade County School Overcrowding Task Force.
Bob is married to Diane Fitzsimmons, whose brilliant idea it was for Bob to move to Florida. They have two daughters, who are currently students at the University of Florida.
