Monica C. Segura is an associate with the firm's Miami office. She practices in the areas of construction law, products liability and premises liability.

Ms. Segura, a native of Miami, Florida was elected President of the Student Bar Association of the University of Miami for the 2004-05 academic year. As President, she served on numerous faculty committees and participated in Board of Trustees meetings. Prior to her presidency, she served as a Senator of the Student Bar Association, where she drafted several constitutional amendments and resolutions. Ms. Segura also vice-chaired the No Place for Hate Campaign, a joint effort with the Anti-Defamation League, where she worked with members of the community to promote tolerance and respect among the different racial, ethnic, and religious groups at the law school. Additionally, Ms. Segura chaired the mentor program of the Hispanic Law Students Association.

Her active participation continued at the Law School, where she worked with such organizations as H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Through Pro Bono Efforts), the Hispanic Law Students Association, the Catholic Law Students Association, and the Law School Orientation Committee to name a few. As a result of her commitment and dedication to leadership and service, she was selected to join the School of Law's most presitigious honor society, the Honor Society of Bar and Gavel.

Ms. Segura earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication (with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Criminology) in May 2002, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami. While an undergraduate she was actively involved in UMTV as both a writer and on-air personality for the news program NewsVision. Ms. Segura was also a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and was nominated for numerous awards, including National Collegiate Scholar.

Ms. Segura is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Dade County Bar Association and the Cuban American Bar Association. She has also been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Miami Dade Chapter.
